Copilot CLI

GitHub's terminal AI tool. Fully covered. The same connection as Copilot in VS Code, so one install covers both.

What ZYBE can do

Block and Ask, on every rule.

What you do

Install the sensor. Restart Copilot CLI if it was running.

Check it's working

  1. Run copilot and ask it for any command.
  2. In the console, open the laptop from Inventory, Endpoints, click Sensor. Copilot CLI shows Blocking.

What the developer sees when blocked

Denied by preToolUse hook: Blocked by your organisation: ...

Copilot stops and tells the developer.

A repository can't switch it off

Copilot CLI also reads settings from inside a repository. ZYBE registers in the developer's home folder, so a repository that ships its own settings adds to ZYBE's, it doesn't replace them.

~/.copilot/hooks/zybe.json, the same file as VS Code's Copilot Chat.
